Chardonney in the crock pot with my roast?

I LOVE my crock pot. The best roast I had was in my crock pot seven years ago... for the first time I used a small bottle of red wine. When I went shopping for another one of those small bottles, for my roast last week, all I found was zinfindel and chardonney. I don't think they sell those 8 oz bottles of red anymore... I would buy a whole bottle of red but I don't care for red wine and it would just sit here forever... Does anyone know if chardonney would be good to use in the crock pot on a roast if I can't find?
