Whats this part of the train called?

After a drunken argument between Friends lol As you walk on a train, the British rail ones now in use, you step up into it then before you enter the seating ares you walk into a space that connect the 2 cars, this space is big enough for a few people to stand but what i want to know is whats it called? Its the equivalent of a hall in a house etc
